My name is Monica Isabel Garcia Perez.  My husband is Darin Cort. He is a Montessori Teacher with a lot of creativity and energy to work everywhere in the world.  He also speaks Spanish and Dutch very well.  I am from Caracas-Venezuela. Currently, I am doing a PhD in Economics at University of Maryland at College Park, USA.

I went to college in Venezuela at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).  I got a B.S. in Economics.  During my last year in college, I worked for the Venezuelan Association Bank as Junior Economist. Then, I moved to work for Venezuelan National Assembly at the Financial and Economic Advisory Office (OAEF), working directly with the Chief Economist.

After some years of working experience, I thought it was time to go to Graduate School. In 2003, I did a Master in Economics at University College London (UCL) in London, UK .  After my time in London, I moved to Maryland and started the PhD. Program.  In 2007, I got the Master of Arts (Economics) at Maryland.  Looking forward to getting my PhD !
